Description
Obsidian has no crystal structure. Lava cooled too fast for its atoms to line up, so what you have is glass, and glass breaks in curved scoops rather than along flat planes. That is why obsidian takes an edge finer than steel, and why the same material made both blades and scrying mirrors.
The scrying use is the older one in most traditions. A polished obsidian surface gives back a dark reflection with no color in it, and every culture that had the stone found that out.
At 6mm each bead is a small black mirror, which is not a small thing on a stone worked for facing what you have been avoiding. It gets reached for around boundaries, cord cutting and shadow work, and it is not soft about any of it.
How to Wear It
- Wear it while you do the hard thing and take it off when it is done.
- Look into a bead rather than at it. That is the whole technique.
- Keep it away from heat and hard knocks. It is glass.
