Tree of life dreamcatcher

A dreamcatcher with the Tree of Life worked across the hoop instead of the usual web. Yggdrasil holds the nine worlds together in Norse cosmology, and the Irish bile stood at the centre of a territory, both for the same obvious reason: a tree is the clearest picture anyone has of roots and branches belonging to one thing.

That makes it the dreamcatcher for ancestor work rather than only for sleep. Hang it over an altar where you keep photographs, or in a window where the shape reads against the light.

The dreamcatcher comes from the Ojibwe, where the hoop and web were hung over a cradle and understood to catch what should not reach the sleeper. It spread to other nations through the twentieth century and into general use well beyond that. Ours are decorative pieces made for that wider market rather than ceremonial objects, and worth knowing the source of either way.
