Description
Genuine Baltic amber, earth mined, never pressed and never synthetic. It is resin that ran out of conifer forests around forty million years ago and then sat long enough to lose its volatiles and harden into something you can cut.
The reason these are so comfortable is a number: amber has a specific gravity of roughly 1.05, barely denser than water, which is why a piece floats in a saturated salt solution and why an earring this size weighs almost nothing. It is also why amber warms in the hand faster than any stone will. It is organic, not mineral.
Worked as a solar piece: warmth, vitality, and light coming back into a stretch of weeks that has gone flat. Baltic amber has been traded south out of the Baltic for so long that the Romans named the route the Amber Road.
How to Wear It
- Featherlight. You will forget you have them on, which is the point.
- Keep them away from perfume, alcohol and solvents. Amber is soft and they mark it.
- Wear them in the months when the sun does not come out much.
