Wicca Sealing Wax

Sealing wax, for the old job and for the magical one. Melt the end, pour a pool where you want the seal, press a stamp or the flat of a spoon into it, and let it set. A sealed thing cannot be opened without the seal being broken, which is exactly why it was used on letters and exactly why it is useful now.

In practice it does three things. It closes a petition so the working is finished rather than left open. It seals a jar so nothing gets in or out. And it makes a letter worth the trouble of receiving.

How to Use It

Hold the stick over a flame at an angle and let it drip, or melt the end and pour. Give it a few seconds before you press, and cool the stamp between seals or it will lift the wax off with it. Wax on paper wants a slightly bigger pool than you think.

Good to Know

Sealing wax stick. Wax and open flame need the usual care, and a lit taper is easier to control than a lighter held upside down.
