Sekhmet Bust Black
Description
Sekhmet as a bust, in black polymer, four and a half inches.
Her name means the powerful one, and the myth is the reason to take her seriously. Ra sends her out to punish humanity and she does it so thoroughly that he has to stop her. The only thing that works is trickery: beer dyed red with ochre, poured across the fields, which she drinks thinking it is blood until she is too drunk to continue. Humanity survives on a technicality.
The other half of her is the part people miss. Sekhmet brought plague and Sekhmet lifted it, and her priesthood at Memphis were the physicians. She is the goddess of the thing that can destroy you and the only one who can call it off, which is a coherent idea rather than a contradiction.
Work with her for fierce protection, for anger that has somewhere to go, and for recovery.
Good to Know
Polymer, 4.5 inches tall by 2 wide by 2 deep, about 11 ounces.
Handmade in Egypt, so each one varies a little in paint and finish, and yours will not be identical to the photograph. Packaged in a decorative hieroglyphic box with an information card, which makes it a reasonable gift with no extra wrapping.
Try It With
Black Tourmaline Raw, the Ra Totem since she is his Eye, and Ancient Egyptian Magic for Modern Witches. More in protection and warding.
