Description
Rose quartz is cloudy for a reason. Its pink comes from microscopic mineral fibers grown right through the quartz, borosilicate fibers so fine that they were only properly identified in 2001, and it is those fibers scattering light that make the stone milky. Clear pink quartz exists and it is a different, much rarer material.
The stone gets flattened into a valentine, which does it no favors. Rose quartz is a heart stone, yes, but the older use is self directed: it is the one worked for the person who is generous with everyone else and hard on themselves.
At 4mm it disappears, which suits it. This is not a stone that needs to be seen to be doing its job.
