Copaiba Oleoresin | Soft Wood & Steady Ground
Description
Soft, sweet and woody with almost no sharpness. One of the gentlest scents on this shelf and one of the easiest to live with.
What It Is
Copaifera species, an oleoresin tapped from the trunk of Amazonian trees rather than distilled from plant material. A single tree can be tapped for decades without being felled, which makes it one of the more sustainable materials in the range.
In the Craft
Used by Amazonian peoples long before it reached Europe, and adopted in modern practice as a grounding and settling oil. Its mildness is the point: it is the wood note to reach for when cedar or vetiver would be too assertive, and it blends without dominating.
How to Work With It
- Diffuse for grounding in a room where strong scent is unwelcome.
- Dilute and wear daily. It is gentle enough for that.
- Add to a blend as a soft base note.
- Anoint a candle for slow, steady, long-term work.
Blends well with: cedarwood, lavender, frankincense, ylang ylang, sweet orange
Certified Organic. USDA Certified Organic, which means no GMOs, no synthetic fertilizers, and soil free of prohibited substances. Buying certified organic also supports the biodiversity of the land it was grown on.
Safety. For external use only. Essential oils are highly concentrated: always dilute in a carrier oil before skin contact and patch test first. Never take internally. Keep away from children and pets. Ask a qualified practitioner before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or managing a medical condition.
Why We Carry It
Not technically an essential oil. Copaiba is an oleoresin tapped straight from the living trunk, the way maple syrup is, and it behaves differently because of it.
Try It With
Pair it with Cedarwood and browse essential oils.
