Moon Altar Bell 5"

A bell does two things in ritual and both are useful. It marks a boundary in time, telling your nervous system that the ordinary part of the evening is over and the working part has started, and it moves air. Sound clears a room in a way smoke does not, which matters if you cannot burn anything where you live.

The handle is the triple moon, waxing, full, and waning, the symbol most associated with the Goddess in her three faces. It is the sign for the whole cycle rather than any single point in it, which is a fitting thing to be holding when you ring in a working. 5 inches tall with a 2.25 inch mouth.

Ways to Use It

Ring it once to open a ritual and once to close it, and keep the number consistent so your body learns the cue. Walk the perimeter of a room ringing it into the corners, which is where stagnant energy is traditionally said to settle. Sound it over a tarot spread before you read, or over a set of tools before you put them away. If your practice includes ancestor work, a bell is a traditional way to announce that you are present at the altar.

Brass, 5 inches. Cast metal, so slight variation in finish and small surface imperfections are normal. Brass darkens with handling and time. Leave the patina or polish it back, both are traditional.
