Description

An 8.5 inch hoop worked in earthy colors, with protective symbolism through the web and the hanging strands. It is a decorative piece and a sizeable one, big enough to be the thing you notice in a room without taking over a wall.

Hang it where you sleep if that is what you bought it for, or treat it as altar decor. A window is the other obvious place, since the light through the web is half the point.

Good to Know

8.5 inches across the hoop. Feathers and strands settle and separate in transit, so give them a shake and finger-comb them straight when it arrives.

The dreamcatcher comes from the Ojibwe, where the hoop and web were hung over a cradle and understood to catch what should not reach the sleeper. It spread to other nations through the twentieth century and into general use well beyond that. Ours are decorative pieces made for that wider market rather than ceremonial objects, and worth knowing the source of either way.

Pair It With

The Double Row Chakra Dreamcatcher is the bigger, brighter version if this one is too muted, and the Owl Dreamcatcher is the small one for a shelf. For the sleeping side of it, mugwort under the pillow and the Midnight Oracle tea before bed. More in dreamcatchers.
