What It Is
Cymbopogon flexuosus, steam distilled from the leaf. Very high in citral, which is what gives it the lemon punch and also why it needs care on skin.

In the Craft
In Latin American and Caribbean practice lemongrass is a road opener and a cleanser, used in floor washes and baths to clear a stalled situation. It also carries a reputation for cutting through a stagnant atmosphere faster than almost anything else.

How to Work With It

• Add to a floor wash for a road-opening sweep.
• Diffuse to shift a room that has gone flat.
• Anoint a candle at the start of a job hunt or a new venture.
• Blend with basil for a money and opportunity mix.
