Eucalyptus Oil | Clear the Air, Clear the Head

Sharp, camphorous and medicinal in the best sense. It cuts straight through a room the moment it hits the air.

What It Is
Eucalyptus globulus, steam distilled from the leaf. Native to Tasmania and southeastern Australia, now grown across the Mediterranean and South America.

In the Craft
Eucalyptus is worked for clearing and for boundaries, and it is one of the herbs used where the problem is stagnation rather than hostility. In Australian Aboriginal practice the leaves were burned in smoking ceremony long before the oil existed.

How to Work With It

• Diffuse to clear a room that has been shut up.
• Anoint a candle for clearing or for setting a boundary.
• Add to a floor wash in a house that has held illness.
• Blend with lemon for the cleanest smelling clearing combination.

Blends well with: lemon, peppermint, rosemary, lavender, cypress

Safety. For external use only. Essential oils are highly concentrated: always dilute in a carrier oil before skin contact and patch test first. Never take internally. Keep away from children and pets. Ask a qualified practitioner before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or managing a medical condition. Keep away from children under ten. High 1,8-cineole oils should not be diffused around infants or applied near a small child's face.
