Description
Larvikite is not a mineral, it is a rock: a monzonite from the Larvik fjord in southern Norway, and it is Norway's national stone. The silver blue flash moving across it comes from feldspar crystals with fine internal layering, the same effect that makes labradorite do what it does. You have almost certainly walked past larvikite as a bank facade without knowing it.
It gets sold as black moonstone, which it is not, and as black labradorite, which is closer but still wrong. Larvikite is its own thing.
The practice around it pairs sight with weight. It is worked for intuition that stays anchored, for shadow work that does not float off, and by people who find pure third eye stones leave them ungrounded.
How to Wear It
- Wear it when you are doing intuitive work and want to stay in your body for it.
- Turn it in the light. The flash comes and goes with the angle.
- Stack it with a root stone if you run airy.
Wear It With
See tumbled larvikite, the larvikite wolf and tumbled labradorite for comparison.
Round 4mm beads on a stretch cord, sized to fit most adult wrists. The 4mm is the slim one: it sits close, slides under a cuff, and stacks three or four deep without getting loud. Natural stone, so the color and marking run differently through every bead.
