Silk Drawstring Pouch | Medium, Sari Silk
Description
Description
The medium size, sewn from one hundred percent silk saris. Big enough for a small deck, a handful of stones, or a set of runes with room to shake them.
The silk is reclaimed rather than new. A sari is five to nine yards of cloth that is traditionally never cut, so a retired one yields a lot of good fabric, and workshops across Nepal and northern India have built a real trade out of reusing it. Every pouch is a different piece of a different sari.
These are handmade in Nepal by fair trade partners, and the alternate pull strings are the mechanism: pull one pair and the mouth closes, pull the other and it opens. Colors are assorted and we ship a selection if you order more than one.
