Plant Context

Known as "knitbone" in traditional folklore, comfrey has been valued for centuries throughout Europe and Western Asia. Thick cut root, dark on the outside and pale within, hard and slightly waxy to the touch. Almost odorless dry. It is dense enough that it holds its place at the bottom of a jar rather than drifting.
