Blackberry Moon Loose Leaf Tea | Juicy Blackberry & Black Tea Blend
Description
Juicy and smooth, with ripe dark berry over a black tea base that keeps it from tipping into squash. The marigold petals are there for the look as much as anything, and they do earn their place in the tin.
Blackberry has a long folk reputation as a threshold plant. A bramble grows where nothing is tended, guards a boundary better than a fence, and gives fruit anyway, which is most of why it turns up in protection work as often as it does in kitchens.
What's In It
Black tea, the base, deep and steady. Blackberry pieces, the fruit and the sweetness. Blackberry leaf, greener and more tannic than the fruit, keeping it honest. Marigold petals, for color.
Spiritual Properties
Worked with for protection at a boundary, and for evening work where you want to be awake for it. A good cup for journaling, for moon work you are actually staying up for, and for the hour after dinner.
To Brew
One tablespoon per cup. Black tea wants water just off the boil and three to four minutes, no longer, or the tannins take over and it goes bitter. Strain and take it with milk or without.
Good to Know
Contains caffeine, from the black tea base.
Drink It With
Raven's Earl Grey is the other smooth black tea and Raven's Chai Latte the spiced one. For the caffeine-free evening version, Lights Out. Browse the rest of the tea shelf.
