Black Female Figure Candle 8"
Description
A figure candle gives your working a body. Rather than aiming an intention at an idea, you aim it at a shape you can name, carve, and anoint, and that specificity is most of why the form has stayed in use across so many traditions.
Black is the color of protection, banishing, and reversal work. Paired with the female figure, this candle is most often used to shield a specific woman, to cut off what has attached itself to her, or to represent the practitioner herself in a defensive working. It is a workhorse rather than a decoration, and it is meant to be marked up.
How to Work It
Name the figure out loud, since the candle only becomes a stand-in once you say who it is. Carve the name and any symbols you use into the wax with a pin or a blade. Dress it with oil from the center outward for protection, or from the top down for banishing, depending on your tradition. Burn it in stages across several nights if the work needs time, snuffing rather than blowing between sessions.
Try It With
Carve it with the Selenite Athame, pack the base with Bay Leaf Cut, and finish with Medusa's Protection Aura Spray. More in our protection and warding collection.
Safety
8 inches. Figure candles burn unevenly and can slump as the form softens. Use a heat-safe dish with a lip, keep the flame in sight, and keep it clear of drafts, children, pets, and fabric.
