Description

Bastet in black polymer, under four inches. The small one.

Bastet started out a lioness. In the earliest material she is Bast of Bubastis, as fierce as Sekhmet; only later is she read as Sekhmet's gentler half, and later still does she settle into the domestic cat everyone pictures now. The softening is the interesting part: she keeps the claws and adds the hearth.

She guards the house, the women and the children in it, and she is the one you put by a door rather than on a shelf across the room. At this size that is easy, which is the argument for the mini over the large one.

Good to Know

Polymer, 0.75 inches wide by 2 deep by 3.75 tall. Small enough for a windowsill, a car, or the shelf by the front door.

Handmade in Egypt, so each one varies a little in paint and finish, and yours will not be identical to the photograph. Packaged in a decorative hieroglyphic box with an information card, which makes it a reasonable gift with no extra wrapping.
