Description

Anubis in mummy form, eleven inches tall. This is the big one, and at that height it stops being an ornament and starts being the thing the altar is arranged around.

Anubis is the patron of embalmers, and this is the form that says so: the wrapped body, upright, the god presiding over his own craft. Egyptian embalming took seventy days, and the priest who did the work wore a jackal mask and was Anubis for the duration. The job and the god were the same thing.

He is the guide as well as the embalmer. If the work you do sits near death, grief or endings, this is the figure to have at a size you cannot ignore.

Handmade in Egypt, so each one varies a little in paint and finish, and yours will not be identical to the photograph. Packaged in a decorative hieroglyphic box with an information card, which makes it a reasonable gift with no extra wrapping.
