Anubis does one specific job and it is the one everybody is afraid of. In the Hall of Two Truths he sets the scale, puts the heart of the dead on one pan and the feather of Ma'at on the other, and adjusts the plumb himself. Thoth writes down the result. Ammit sits underneath waiting for a heart that comes in heavy.

The kneeling posture is the working posture: he is at the scale, not standing guard. This is the Anubis for an ancestor altar, for grief work, and for anyone doing the kind of self-examination the scene is actually about.

Handmade in Egypt, so each one varies a little in paint and finish, and yours will not be identical to the photograph. Packaged in a decorative hieroglyphic box with an information card, which makes it a reasonable gift with no extra wrapping.
