Bergamot Oil | Lift the Mood, Open the Room
Description
Citrus, but greener and more floral than lemon or orange, with a slight bitterness at the edge. The most sophisticated of the citrus oils.
What It Is
Citrus bergamia, cold pressed from the peel. Grown almost entirely in Calabria, in southern Italy, where the climate suits it and almost nowhere else does.
In the Craft
Bergamot is worked for lifting mood, for opening the way in money and success work, and for glamour. It sits in the same family as sweet orange but carries more nuance, which makes it the choice when you want brightness without cheerfulness.
How to Work With It
- Diffuse to lift a room before company or a working.
- Anoint a candle for success, confidence or road opening.
- Dilute and wear as a personal glamour oil.
- Blend a drop with lavender for something calm but not sleepy.
Blends well with: lavender, frankincense, cedarwood, ylang ylang, clary sage
Certified Organic. USDA Certified Organic, which means no GMOs, no synthetic fertilizers, and soil free of prohibited substances. Buying certified organic also supports the biodiversity of the land it was grown on.
Safety. For external use only. Essential oils are highly concentrated: always dilute in a carrier oil before skin contact and patch test first. Never take internally. Keep away from children and pets. Ask a qualified practitioner before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or managing a medical condition. Bergamot is phototoxic. Do not apply to skin that will see sunlight or a tanning bed for at least 12 hours afterward.
Why We Carry It
The bright top note that makes Earl Grey tea taste like Earl Grey tea. The one to reach for when a room has gone heavy and you want it lighter without clearing it.
Try It With
Try it beside our Earl Grey blend, which is flavored with the same fruit.
