Geranium Oil | Rose Without the Price of Rose

Sweet, green and distinctly rosy, with a sharper herbal edge than true rose. Fresh rather than heavy.

What It Is
Pelargonium graveolens, steam distilled from the leaf. The Egyptian growing region gives a particular rose-forward profile. Note that this is a pelargonium, not a true geranium, and the scent lives in the leaf rather than the flower.

In the Craft
Worked wherever rose is called for: love, self-love, reconciliation and heart work. It carries a Venus correspondence and turns up in glamour and beauty practice as well as in grief work, where its greenness keeps it from being cloying.

How to Work With It

• Anoint a candle for love, reconciliation or self-worth.
• Dilute and wear as a personal glamour oil.
• Diffuse for heart work or after an argument.
• Blend with bergamot for a bright, open-hearted mix.
