Morning Witch Tea | Energy without the Jitters
Description
Brisk and green-edged over a proper black tea base, with citrus and mint keeping it from going heavy. Morning Witch is the caffeinated one, and it brews up just enough sass to handle whatever the day has queued up.
What's In It
Yerba Mate, the South American holly whose leaves are drunk from a shared gourd across Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Grassy and brisk. English Breakfast, the black tea backbone, deep and familiar. Peppermint, clearing, and a cool line straight through the middle. Lemon Balm, the reminder to breathe before you hex anyone. Orange Peel, attracting joy, and a bright oil on the finish.
Spiritual Properties
Worked with for clarity, drive and getting on with it. The cup for a morning you have to be somebody in.
To Brew
One tablespoon per cup, water around 195F rather than fully boiling, three minutes. That is hotter than mate on its own would want, since mate is traditionally brewed well below boiling, but the black tea in here needs the heat. Push either the temperature or the time and both go bitter.
Good to Know
Contains caffeine, from both the yerba mate and the black tea.
Drink It With
Tulsi Adaptogenic is the caffeine-free version of the same intention. Raven's Chai Latte if you want spice with your caffeine and Raven's Earl Grey if you want none. Browse the rest of the tea shelf.
