Samhain Candle Workshop
Description
October 10th 12pm
Thirty-five dollars, all materials included, and you leave with a candle you made for the current sabbat, Samhain.
You will roll this ritual candle in herbs and dress it with oils chosen for what you are calling in. There is a full table of herbs, florals and natural adornments to work from, and a handy guide to tell you what each one is traditionally for, so you are choosing rather than guessing.
The part people do not expect is how much of the work is the deciding. Sitting with a table of options and having to pick what you actually want more of, turns out to be the real exercise. The candle is the record of having done it.
No experience necessary. Bring a willingness to want more from this season, which is the only prerequisite there has ever been.
Good to Know
All materials included. Bring any small meaningful item you would like worked into your candle; some people bring dried flowers, a fragment of something, a written word. Nothing that will burn on its own, and nothing you could not part with. All sessions are in person at Wild Raven's Nest, 602 N Rockwall Ave in Terrell.
Burning it at home: a candle rolled in herbs and dressed in oil flares and spits in a way a plain candle does not. Burn it on a heatproof surface, keep it well away from anything that can catch, and never leave it unattended. If the herbs on the outside catch, that is normal and it is also exactly why you do not walk away from it.
Try It With
Intention oils and the apothecary for doing it again at home. A candle holder to burn it in. More on the calendar and classes and workshops.
