Plant Context
Willow trees grow near water and bend easily without breaking, reflecting emotional adaptability and resilience. Their flexible branches mirror willow bark’s spiritual symbolism, strength through yielding and resilience through movement.
In the Hand
Thin, curled strips of tan bark, flexible rather than brittle. Saille is its Ogham name, which is worth knowing if you work the tree alphabet.
Work with it
Willow bark is commonly used in grief rituals, emotional repair work, and moon-based practices. A focused way to work with it is to include it during journaling or ritual baths intended to release held emotion.
