Ylang Ylang Oil | Heady, Floral & Frankly Sensual

Rich, sweet and creamy floral, almost banana-like at the edges. Heady enough that one drop too many will take over a room.

What It Is
Cananga odorata, steam distilled from the flowers. Complete means the whole distillation rather than one of the graded fractions, so you get the full profile from the sharp opening to the sweet base.

In the Craft
A Venus oil, used in love, attraction and glamour work across modern practice. In Indonesia and the Philippines the flowers are traditionally strewn on the beds of newlyweds, which tells you most of what you need to know about its associations.

How to Work With It

• Anoint a candle for love, attraction or self-worth work.
• Dilute and wear as a glamour oil. Use less than you think.
• Diffuse a single drop for a warm, sensual room.
• Blend with bergamot to lift it and stop it going cloying.
