Herbal dressed tapers for Nyx, scented with patchouli, lavender and lotus.

Nyx is night itself, born out of Chaos and older than almost every god the Greeks named after her. Hesiod gives her a daughter list that tells you what the Greeks thought night contained: sleep, death, dreams, blame, and the Fates. In the Iliad, Zeus holds off from punishing Hypnos because Hypnos runs to his mother and Zeus will not risk offending Night.

Work with her for anything done after dark and for the kind of dark that is not the absence of something but a thing in its own right.

What You Are Getting

Six inch taper, about five hours of burn in still air. Sold as a pair. These are dressed with herbs on the outside of the wax, so the color runs differently from batch to batch and yours will not match the photograph exactly.

Safety

Dressed candles carry dry herb on the wax and they can flare. Keep the flame in sight, set the candle in a holder that catches drip on a heatproof surface, and keep it away from drafts, curtains, children and pets. Trim the wick to a quarter inch before each burn. Never leave it burning unattended.
