Description
A small standing tree figure carved in black obsidian. Volcanic glass, formed when lava cooled too fast to crystallise, which is why it takes a carved edge so cleanly.

Obsidian is a protection and purification stone. It cuts through what is cluttering the picture and anchors you when things are moving faster than you are, which is the plainest description of grounding anyone has managed.

The tree spirit is one of the oldest figures there is: the guardian rooted in one place that has watched everything and says very little. It turns up as the Norse landvaettir, the Greek dryad, the green man in English church carving. On a root chakra stone it reads as strength that grows rather than strength that shouts.
