Description
Rhodonite is a manganese silicate, and the black webbing through the pink is manganese oxide that formed later along fractures. The name comes from rhodon, Greek for rose. Most of the good material came out of the Ural Mountains, quarried heavily enough that imperial Russia lined a whole sarcophagus with it.
It gets called the rescue stone, and the job behind that nickname is worth stating plainly: rhodonite is worked for the anger underneath a hurt. Not for softening a heart in general but for the resentment, the jealousy, the score being kept, all the things that are grief wearing a harder coat.
The black veins are the association rather than a flaw. A heart stone with damage running through it is the more honest object.
How to Wear It
- Wear it when you are angry at someone you also love.
- Good for forgiveness work that is not going well.
- Chips are irregular. Find one bead with a lot of black in it and use that as the one you hold.
